COMPETENCY BASED TRAINING ON POWER QUALITY AND HARMONICS
The distribution code defines power quality as the quality of the voltage, including its frequency, and the resulting current, that are measured in the Distribution System during normal conditions. Since Power Quality issues affects every consumer in the Grid, the Code dictates standards that to be followed and measured at the point of common coupling. The increasing demand and applications of non-linear load in industries nowadays greatly affects the quality of the power system. Unfortunately, most of the older electrical designs of industries have no anticipation for these kinds of loads. Nuisance tripping and unplanned downtimes in industrial and commercial establishments greatly affect production and contribute a great economical loss. The stability of power system and mitigations of power quality problems now lies on the hands of Engineering Team and Maintenance personnel. This technical training will guide maintenance engineers and improve their technical know-how on how to deal with the power quality issues.
COMPETENCY BASED TRAINING IN INSULATION POWER FACTOR FOR POWERTRANSFORMER
The course is for a beginner, or an experienced maintenance technical staff who wants to be effective as a test engineer, and for an advanced test engineer to learn new concepts in power transformer testing, oil recycling or oil filtering concept, and basic results interpretation. The course will also focus on issues related to causes of bushing breakdown, arresters, oil, impedance, leakage reactance and most of all short circuits rating a transformer can withstand.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROTECTION AND COORDINATION
Power System Analyses are an essential part of electrical power system design. Load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination are necessary to verify that the electrical system including the system components, are correctly specified to perform as intended, withstand expected stress, and be protected against failures.
PROTECTIVE RELAYING
Protective Relaying is a vital part of any electric power system: quite unnecessary during normal operation but very important during trouble, faults and abnormal disturbances. Protective Relaying can be considered a vertical specialty with a horizontal vantage point: thus, while specialized, it is involved with and requires knowledge of all of the equipment required in the generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electrical power.
